jordana incolor pretty shine luxury gloss: gotta catch 'em all!

whew, what a mouthful of a name. i bet you guys have tried these lipglosses before, because they're only 2 bucks at walgreens. the first one i ever tried (like 2 years ago... ha!) was "dazzling", the bright tangerine shade. the formula is awesome! it's smooth, pigmented but still a little sheer, shiny, and smells like apples. this is a perfect gloss for spring and summer:

the next one i tried was "adorable", a pale nude gloss. i figured the formula would be the same. nope, not so. it's thicker, stickier, and very frosty. BUT, i've found that if you apply clear balm first, it goes on really smooth and sheer. it's pretty to pair with bold eyes:

my newest addition is "lovely", which is really true to its name! it's like a beigy pink, mostly beige. this gloss has a lot of shimmer to it, but isn't sticky like "adorable."

i like this shade because it's slightly darker than my natural lip color and is really neutral. which means i finally found something to wear with my teal shirts! see?

yay! plus because of the shimmer, it doesn't wear off as quickly as the other two. here are some pics of the actual tubes. you'll see that "dazzling" is actually a tangerine color, not blood orange like it looks in the first picture.

middle: adorable
bottom: lovely

of course, they have other shades available too. the bright red looks interesting.... anyone else tried these?

120 days of shadow: Day 22

I attempted to look like a glowing sunset today. I have a very very pale lilac on my lids, golden peach under my lower lashes, Wet 'n Wild Ultimate Minerals Blush in Rose Shimmer (I blogged about this yesterday) on my cheeks, and Jordana InColor Pretty Shine Luxury Gloss in Dazzling (it looks bright tangerine in the tube) on my lips. Just a little bit. I hate looking goopy.

I love the pretty shimmer and glow that this ($3!) blush gives to my cheeks. They have at least 3 other colors, too- mauve, peach, and pink, I think.

I skipped the eyeliner today. It's too heavy for a sunset. But I will admit that I felt kinda naked today without it.

120 days of shadow: Day 15

I decided to suffer through pink again today, but much to my surprise, it looked peachy on me! Talk about a welcome surprise. So to match, I played up my peachy cheeks and a peachy lipgloss.

I'm wearing Jordana InColor Pretty Shine Luxury Gloss in Dazzling, which is bright tangerine shade. The cool thing about a sheer formula is that your natural lip hue shines through. So because my lips are pink already, the orange color turns peach (which is pink + orange). And don't even get me started on the feel of this lipgloss! Well, OK, do get me started because it's GREAT! It's smooth, it smells happy and fruity, it never gets sticky, and it definitely has a good shot of pigment. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I hate gloss that looks brightly colored in the tube and then looks like a layer of clear nailpolish topcoat on your lips. Why??? Lips don't look any more attractive just because they're shiny. They look more attractive because they have a pretty blush to them. And if there's some shine to that blush, then that's a bonus.
